About the Survey

The Mueller Dog Park Coalition conducted an online survey about the proposed Mueller dog park pilot project between January 15 and September 7. The survey questionnaire was based on a survey used by the Austin Parks and Recreation Department for their off-leash dog park pilot projects.

Highlights

305 people responded to the survey. Here’s a breakout of answers from the 250 respondents who live in Mueller.

Dogs in the Mueller Community

  • 250 people who live in Mueller accounted for 82% of survey responses.

  • 88% of the Mueller respondents encounter off-leash dogs in Mueller daily or weekly.

  • 79% of the Mueller respondents said off-leash dogs in Mueller cause conflicts with people.

  • 77% of Mueller respondents said an off-leash dog park would reduce these conflicts.

  • 82% of Mueller respondents own one or more dogs.

Southeast Greenway Location

  • 57% of Mueller respondents live within ½ mile of the Southeast Greenway.

  • 67% of Mueller respondents visit the Southeast Greenway at least once a week.

  • 77% of Mueller respondents walk to the Southeast Greenway.

  • 44% of Mueller respondents bring their dogs to the Southeast Greenway at least once a week.

  • 60% of Mueller respondents are likely to use an off-leash park in the Southeast Greenway.

Northwest Greenway Location

  • 26% of Mueller respondents live within ½ mile of the Northwest Greenway

  • 30% of Mueller respondents visit the Northwest Greenway at least once a week.

  • 39% of Mueller POA respondents walk to the Northwest Greenway

  • 17% of Mueller respondents bring their dogs to the Northwest Greenway at least once a week.
